One time soldiers went for a war. They fell into an ambush and most of them were killed. Only two of them managed to escape the enemies . But unfortunately, they got lost in the desert. As they were walking , not realising that they were in a landmine field, one of them stepped on a landmine. Not knowing, he lifted his foot to continue walking. The landmine exploded , and destroyed him to ash! The friend, who was now the only one alive , watched him being destroyed to ashes by the landmine. He developed a very deep fear inside him, knowing he won't survive the landmines in the field. He carefully continued walking. Unfortunately, he heard his foot stepping on a hard object in the ground. Without any doubt, he knew it was a landmine too. The only thing he had to do was not to move his foot any more. He remained stationary, keeping his foot on the hard object. Without moving, he picked up his phone and called at the embassy for rescue but all in vain. The desert was too remote, the call couldn't get through. He had no rescue, yet he couldn't walk anymore because the moment his foot lost contact with the landmine, it could explode and destroy him. He remained stationary for the whole day. The next day, he tried to call again but the phone still had no network! He spend the second day in the same way. On the third day, being overwhelmed by hunger, thirst, tiredness, anxiety, and depression; he lost control and fell on the ground. To his surprise, his foot lost contact with the hard object in the ground which he was sure it was a landmine, but it didn't explode. Using his gun, he dug the object out of the ground. And surprisingly, it wasn't a landmine! It was just a bottle!! Imagine , all the time he spent standing on just a mere bottle thinking it was a landmine!! Why didn't him check to verify if it was really a landmine? Simple, its what had destroyed his friend. In a similar way, we use other people's failures to conclude on the outcomes of our struggles. " I can't study that course, my brother studied it and failed to get a job. I can't marry from that tribe, my uncle married from it and the lady was too arrogant. I can't do that job, my father did it and died a poor man." This is what we are fond of saying. Brothers and sisters, let's learn to live our own lives. Your life is unique and Original, don't compare it with others'.
I was born in 1998 and I lost my father in 2000. I have seven biological brothers and two biological sisters, and am the second last born in the family. By the time my father died, the first born son was studying mechanical engineering and the second eldest brother was in senior six, and that was their end. Everything turned upside down. The next chapter of life was characterized by poverty, tears, grief, sorrow, and misery. One of my brothers attempted to make a suicide; He hang himself on a tree but unfortunately my mother saw him and made a very loud cry to him, in panic the rope slipped from the tree and he felt down, making the suicide unsuccessful. The first born ran mad. I remember him trying to eat a dog alive! In that tearful moments, there are two prayers ( we are Catholics) that created a rock foundation on which the family is built on up to today. One was prayed by my mother and the second one prayed by my second eldest brother. My mother's prayer " Dear Mother Ma...
