If you knew, you wouldn't judge.

If all people threw their problems in a basket, we would realize how lucky we are. "She whipped me so badly that I had welts on my back and the welts could bleed and so then I got another whipping for getting blood on my clothes! We were so poor that often many times I could wear clothes made up of potato sacks" - Oprah Winfrey's childhood experience. One of my friends invited me for a burial of his father, it was a painful moment for him but , speaking the truth, neither did I get hurt nor sympathetic but instead wished if it was me! I just imagined how lucky he was that his father died when he had even completed university studies. If God gave me that chance! I imagined that even if my father resurrects today , I can't recognize his face!  I was too young to remember him. What is the lesson in this? Don't judge anyone in this world unless you know their lives. Some of us battles stress, frustrations, anxiety and depression every day. We search for happiness in all corners and try to enjoy every moment whenever we get the chance not because we are really happy but simply to control the past from screwing up our present and future.  Ignorantly you judge us thinking that we are showing off. The happiest people ,most of the times, are the most wounded but trying to be courageous.

The storm won't kill you

I was born in 1998 and I lost my father in 2000. I have seven biological brothers and two biological sisters, and am the second last born in the family. By the time my father died, the first born son was studying mechanical engineering and the second eldest brother was in senior six, and that was their end. Everything turned upside down. The next chapter of life was characterized by poverty, tears, grief, sorrow, and misery. One of my brothers attempted to make a suicide; He hang himself on a tree but unfortunately my mother saw him and made a very loud cry to him, in panic the rope slipped from the tree and he felt down, making the suicide unsuccessful. The first born ran mad. I remember him trying to eat a dog alive!  In that tearful moments, there are two prayers ( we are Catholics) that created a rock foundation on which the family is built on up to today. One was prayed by my mother and the second one prayed by my second eldest brother. My mother's prayer " Dear Mother Ma...

Life isn't fair, but its still good

"I went to KFC. 24 people went for the job, 23 were accepted, I was the only one rejected. And we went for police, five people full of them accepted, I was the only one rejected. I applied for Harvard ten times rejected" said by Jack ma, richest man in China. When you've exhausted all possibilities, remember this , you haven't . No matter how bad it is , it could always be worse. Be glad its not. Put your problems in proper perspective. The reason why we don't become who we want to be is because we do attach to who we've been. Haven't you ever hard people saying " but i have always been like this!" Most of us want the convenience of transformation without the inconvenience required for the transformation. Let go of the past so that you can create a better future. It doesn't mean what happened was right, it means your future happiness is more important than holding on to something you can't change. If you want to achieve something differen...

Authentic Life

When Isaac Newton was in his early twenties, in 1665, a great plague hit London. To prevent the plague from spreading further, London city was locked down. Newton was studying at Trinity College, Cambridge and the school sent all it's students home. Over one hundred people died because of this epidemic.  Was Newton stressed during this quarantine? Perhaps not . It was during this time that Newton got still and concentrated more on his deeper understanding about scientific theories. He wrote papers that became the early calculus , discovered differential and integral calculus and formulated a theory of Universal gravitation .  Now, when the ladder is not Leaning on the right wall, each step we make get us to the wrong place faster.  The foundation , the origin of an authentic life , is knowing who we are. "Who am I , and what do I exactly want in this life?"   There is a uniqueness on every individual here on earth , which when discovered by the individual and ...
